- EASI·Consult® heads down south to New Orleans, LA for the 24th Annual Society
for Industrial and Organizational Psychology Conference April 2-4th, 2009.
EASI·Consult® will be well represented at the conference and with several of
its team members on the program. Dr. Joe Gier will be chairing the symposium
"Making Changes to Keep America Safe - Contributions From I-O Psychology."
This symposium features members of EASI·Consult's senior leadership
including Dr. Dave Smith and Dave Hoff, as well as colleagues from the Office of
the Director of National Intelligence and Federal Management Partners (FMP).
Dr. Lee Konczak will be chairing a panel discussion entitled "Developing
Next-Generation Leaders: Current Practices in High-Potential Leadership
Development." Dr. Dave Smith will be participating as a panelist
contributing to discussion on the strategies used by large- and medium-sized
organizations from diverse industries in developing high-potential leaders.
Finally, Whitney Botsford will be a panelist in an applied session discussing
I/O career paths. This session is designed to help graduate students and job
seekers gain insight into applied career paths in government, internal, and
external consulting, as well as provide a realistic perspective on early career
decisions.
- Law Enforcement Shows Interest in EASI·Consult®
Research – EASI·Consult® was asked to present this research at
a number of professional conferences. These include the 31st
Anniversary Polygraph Seminar co-sponsored by the American Association
of Police Polygraphers and the Florida Polygraph Association (May
2008) as well as the 43rd Annual American Polygraph Association

- Assessment of Optimal Interrogation
Approaches – EASI·Consult® recently completed research awarded
by the Department of Defense to determine optimal approaches used by
criminal and counter-terrorism interrogators. Drawing on its expertise
and innovative orientation, EASI·Consult® designed a unique core
methodology for this research effort that included a combination of
elements from Cognitive Task Analysis (CTA) and Competency Modeling
(using Behavioral Event Interviewing). This methodology was used to
identify, define and describe characteristics that distinguish
superior from average interrogators.
- Competency-Based Interview Tool –
EASI·Consult® created an online interview tool for the United States
General Services Administration's Public Buildings Service division
(PBS). This tool, called the Competency-Based Interview Tool (C-BIT),
allows hiring managers across the country to create structured
interview guides for assessing the suitability of job applicants.

The "Officer Report" was prepared by the project contractors, Anteon
Corporation and EASI·Consult LLC, who administered the survey and compiled
