EASI·Consult® heads down south to New Orleans, LA for the 24th Annual Society
for Industrial and Organizational Psychology Conference April 2-4th, 2009.
EASI·Consult® will be well represented at the conference and with several of
its team members on the program. Dr. Joe Gier will be chairing the symposium
"Making Changes to Keep America Safe - Contributions From I-O Psychology."
This symposium features members of EASI·Consult's senior leadership
including Dr. Dave Smith and Dave Hoff, as well as colleagues from the Office of
the Director of National Intelligence and Federal Management Partners (FMP).
Dr. Lee Konczak will be chairing a panel discussion entitled "Developing
Next-Generation Leaders: Current Practices in High-Potential Leadership
Development." Dr. Dave Smith will be participating as a panelist
contributing to discussion on the strategies used by large- and medium-sized
organizations from diverse industries in developing high-potential leaders.
Finally, Whitney Botsford will be a panelist in an applied session discussing
I/O career paths. This session is designed to help graduate students and job
seekers gain insight into applied career paths in government, internal, and
external consulting, as well as provide a realistic perspective on early career
decisions.

Whitney Botsford - Graduate Student Scholarship 2008
Whitney Botsford, an Assessment and Selection Specialist for EASI Consult,
received a Graduate Student Scholarship for her dissertation work, "Clarifying
the Career Decisions of Mothers and Identifying Organizational Strategies to
Retain Mothers."
Calvin Hoffman - SIOP Fellow 2008
Dr. Hoffman is an exemplary scientist-practitioner who has had influence at
several levels. He is among the most highly published practitioners in the
field, yet his work always has practical focus. His work on job component
validity, test transportability, validation strategies with small sample sizes,
and applications of the PAQ are highly cited and often used by practitioners
dealing with real-world problems. In addition, Dr. Hoffman has been an adjunct
faculty member of several universities and is a past president of the Personnel
Testing Council of Southern California.
